Design Verification Lead, Peripheral IP Group (UVM)
QualcommJob Title
Design Verification Lead, Peripheral IP Group (UVM)
Role Summary
Lead verification for complex wired/wireless peripheral IP and subsystems used in Snapdragon platforms. Own UVM-based verification strategy, deliver first-time-right silicon, and coordinate across design, emulation and validation teams.
This is a 5-days-on-site role based in Haifa, Israel, managing a small DV team and driving verification quality and sign-off.
Experience Level
Senior β role expects an experienced verification engineer (typically 7+ years of hands-on verification using UVM/SystemVerilog) with prior technical leadership or demonstrated ability to lead a small team.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities of the DV Lead.
- Define and execute verification strategy, test plans and coverage goals for complex peripheral IP and subsystems.
- Architect, develop, and maintain UVM-based constrained-random verification environments.
- Lead day-to-day activities of a small DV team: task planning, code and testplan reviews, mentoring and technical guidance.
- Debug complex issues across RTL, testbench and system levels; collaborate with design, emulation and validation teams.
- Analyze and close functional and code coverage; drive quality metrics to tape-out criteria.
- Contribute to methodology and flow improvements across the Peripheral DV team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Education details are summarized below.
- 7+ years hands-on verification experience using UVM and SystemVerilog or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in digital design and SoC/IP architecture.
- Proven technical leadership: prior experience leading or mentoring engineers or demonstrated ownership of major IP and cross-functional efforts.
- Deep knowledge of UVM testbench architecture (agents, sequences, scoreboards, coverage) and coverage-driven verification.
- Experience debugging complex failures in large-scale regression environments.
- Scripting proficiency (Python, Perl, Tcl, shell) and experience in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Preferred: experience with high-speed peripherals (USB, PCIe, Display, SerDes or similar), low-power/reset/clock-domain interactions, regression management and sign-off criteria, and working with global cross-site teams.
Education Requirements
Degree preferred: BSc/MSc in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field. The posting also lists alternative minimums: Bachelor's + 4+ years, Master's + 3+ years, or PhD + 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; applications with equivalent practical experience will be considered.
