Role Summary

The Design Verification Intern supports pre-silicon validation of digital integrated circuits by developing testbenches, running simulations, and debugging RTL. The intern works with verification and RTL engineering teams to help achieve functional correctness and verification closure while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard methodologies.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. This role is intended for students or early-career candidates; no prior industry experience required.

Responsibilities

Main day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Assist in developing and enhancing constrained-random verification components (sequences, monitors, scoreboards) using SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Execute regression tests, analyze waveforms, check coverage metrics (code/functional), and debug RTL simulation failures.
  • Write and maintain automation and verification scripts (Python, Perl, Tcl) to streamline the verification flow.
  • Record and maintain clear documentation of test plans, coverage results, and bug reports.
  • Collaborate with RTL designers and verification engineers to reproduce and resolve functional issues.

Requirements

Must-have skills and logistics for the internship:

  • Strong foundational knowledge of digital logic design and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming and one or more of C/C++ or Python.
  • Basic understanding of verification concepts such as UVM and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) is preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite four days per week as required by the role.
  • Availability to commit to at least a 6-month internship term.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and a collaborative team mindset.
