Design Verification Intern
Role Summary
Internship on the RTL design verification team responsible for validating Quadric's general-purpose neural processing unit (GPNPU) hardware. Work within the verification organization to develop, run, and analyze tests that ensure correctness and coverage of RTL implementations.
Experience Level
Entry-level (internship). This role is intended for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
Responsibilities
Key tasks the intern will perform:
- Develop and run verification tests and environments for RTL using SystemVerilog, SystemC, or C/C++.
- Implement and extend testbenches and verification infrastructure (UVM experience is beneficial).
- Collaborate with architects and RTL designers to define and document test plans and verification goals.
- Execute simulations, debug failing tests, diagnose RTL issues, and assist with root-cause analysis.
- Collect and analyze coverage metrics and produce concise verification reports.
- Automate routine verification tasks with scripting and toolchains as needed.
Requirements
Core qualifications and desirable skills.
- Familiarity with verification methodologies for CPU or GPU designs.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog, SystemC, or C/C++.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills and clear technical communication.
- Ability to work on site in Burlingame, CA for the internship period (preference for Bay Area candidates or those able to relocate).
Nice-to-have:
- UVM experience.
- Exposure to assembly or low-level code generation.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and practical use of LLMs to accelerate tasks.
- Coursework or project experience in computer architecture, RTL design, ML systems, or performance engineering.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
