Design Verification Infrastructure Engineer — Software

Role Summary

Develop and maintain a Verification Platform used across SiFive to support design verification and validation. Work on libraries, tools, and end-to-end flows that enable verification engineers to express intent, generate stimuli, and query design metadata.

This role sits on the Design Verification Infrastructure team and requires collaborating with verification engineers to identify pain points and deliver robust, production-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building and supporting the Verification Platform and related libraries and tools used by verification teams.

• Architect, develop, and maintain a scalable Verification Platform for design verification and validation.
• Implement libraries in Scala/Chisel for expressing verification intent, including test harnesses, stimulus, scoreboards, and generators.
• Implement Python libraries and utilities for querying design intent from specs, generated metadata, and other sources.
• Build tools and methodologies for end-to-end verification flows and integrate with existing verification infrastructure.
• Document and educate verification teams on best practices and how to use the Verification Platform effectively.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role, followed by desirable skills.

• Must have software engineering experience in at least one compiled language and one scripting language.
• Must understand modern software engineering practices (version control, testing, modular design).
• Must have experience deploying software systems into production or production-like environments.
• Nice to have: experience with Chisel, Scala, and/or Python.
• Nice to have: familiarity with EDA tools and verification flows.
• Nice to have: familiarity with DevOps practices, build systems, and CI/CD.
