Design Verification Engineering Leader (Director of Verification, Infinity Fabric)

Role Summary

Lead AMD's Infinity Fabric verification organization to define verification strategy, build and manage teams, and deliver verification solutions for next-generation Data Fabric and SoC architectures. The role spans technical leadership, program execution, and organizational development across global sites.

Responsible for driving verification methodologies, automation and AI-assisted flows, and ensuring first-pass silicon quality across multiple complex programs.

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification strategy, execution, team development, and cross-functional program delivery.

  • Define and own verification strategy and execution for Infinity Fabric and Data Fabric subsystems.
  • Drive the full verification lifecycle: planning, methodology, environment development, coverage closure, debug, and signoff.
  • Champion verification innovation: automation, formal methods, AI/ML-assisted verification, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Ensure world-class quality and first-silicon success across multiple concurrent programs and product generations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing organization: coach managers/leads, develop talent, and plan succession.
  • Partner with architecture, design, software, emulation, post-silicon, and program management teams to set plans, milestones, and risk mitigation.
  • Represent the verification organization in program reviews and executive forums.
  • Influence company-wide verification practices and identify productivity, quality, and scalability improvements.
  • Drive adoption of AI and automation to accelerate planning, debug, coverage closure, and overall verification velocity.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications followed by desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Significant experience in design verification with a track record of leading large verification teams through multiple product cycles.
  • Must-have: Deep practical expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM, functional coverage, random/constrained verification, assertions, formal verification, verification architecture, and debug/root-cause analysis.
  • Must-have: Experience delivering complex SoC, CPU, GPU, interconnect, networking, or ASIC programs and working across global engineering organizations.
  • Must-have: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with automation, AI/ML, data analytics, emulation, and next-generation verification technologies to improve productivity and quality.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with complex multi-die or highly integrated SoC products.
