Design Verification Engineer - SoC
EtchedJob Title
Design Verification Engineer - SoC
Role Summary
Join the Systems/Performance Verification team to validate correctness and performance of custom IPs (systolic arrays, DMA engines, NoCs) across pre-silicon and silicon. Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, software/firmware, and emulation teams to make designs silicon-ready.
Primary focus is performance verification, correlation with architectural models, and end-to-end tuning across hardware and software.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No specific years of experience provided.
Responsibilities
The role leads performance-focused verification activities across the ASIC lifecycle.
- Verify performance features of custom IPs and correlate RTL with architectural performance models for pre- and post-silicon.
- Develop test plans, infrastructure, and tools for performance tuning, correlation, and verification.
- Implement tests, checkers, and coverage monitors in SystemVerilog and Python; analyze coverage and debug issues.
- Work with software and application teams to identify performance bottlenecks and tune workloads.
- Maintain and improve architectural performance models for chip subsystems.
- Drive end-to-end performance tuning on silicon to ensure optimal hardware utilization and software efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong understanding of digital design, RTL, and ASIC design flows.
- Hands-on experience with performance verification, simulation, and modeling.
- Proficient with SystemVerilog for checkers, coverage, and testbenches.
- Proficient with Python for automation, data analysis, and performance modeling.
- Knowledge of memory hierarchies, pipelines, interconnects, and compute accelerators.
- Experience with performance bottleneck analysis, compiler optimizations, and workload tuning.
- Some exposure to kernel-level performance metrics and profiling tools.
Education Requirements
