Design Verification Engineer — Sensing
Role Summary
Work on digital and analog-mixed-signal (AMS) verification for advanced sensor ICs, developing chip-level verification plans, SystemVerilog testcases, behavioral models, and running regressions to achieve verification closure.
Collaborate with design and systems teams to find and close spec gaps and design bugs, improve verification flows, and ensure robust mixed-signal chip functionality.
Experience Level
Mid-level — minimum 3+ years of related verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning, developing, executing, and closing verification for mixed-signal chips.
- Develop detailed verification and test plans from specifications covering digital and analog functionality.
- Create SystemVerilog chip-level testcases and behavioral models for analog blocks.
- Simulate, debug, and close verification at chip level in digital and AMS environments.
- Run regression suites and perform metric-based verification closure (code and functional coverage).
- Identify design bugs with a break-the-design mindset and work with designers to resolve issues.
- Apply design-for-test techniques (e.g., full scan, ATPG, BIST, IDDQ) as needed.
- Drive documentation, reviews, risk assessment, and verification flow improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
Must-have:
- Hands-on experience in digital and AMS verification for mixed-signal chips.
- Strong SystemVerilog programming and class-based verification skills.
- Solid fundamentals of verification flows and methodologies; metric-based closure experience.
- Good debugging skills and experience debugging complex chip-level issues.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with random/constrained-random verification and functional coverage.
- Experience with Cadence simulation and debug tools.
- Familiarity with UART, SPI, I2C protocols and chip-level test strategies.
- Experience writing exhaustive verification plans and chip-level testcases.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is specified as the required degree.
