Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification of Normal's internal physics-inspired ASICs through tapeout and help define the verification standards used by the company's AI verification platform. Work closely with ML, product, and data teams and occasionally support customer deployments.

Mid-level β typically 5+ years of digital design verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification for internal silicon and improving the quality of AI-generated verification artifacts.
- Own design verification for Normal's internal ASICs: develop testbenches, assertions, functional coverage, and drive coverage closure through tapeout.
- Review and validate AI-generated verification collateral; provide actionable feedback to ML and product teams.
- Define data-quality rubrics and curate golden examples for verification training datasets.
- Support customer deployments as needed, validating AI-generated artifacts against customer specifications.
- Evaluate, configure, and deploy EDA and verification tooling for internal and customer environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of digital verification experience at a semiconductor or EDA company.
- Advanced proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
- Practical experience with EDA verification tools (examples: vManager, Xcelium, Jasper).
- Strong scripting skills in Python or Perl.
- Proven end-to-end verification experience: test plan creation, stimulus generation, feature extraction, and closure.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer engagements and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Field or forward-deployed/customer-facing engineering experience.
- Hands-on use of LLMs or agentic tools in verification workflows.
- Exposure to analog, mixed-signal, or unconventional compute verification.
