Design Verification Engineer
Advanced Micro DevicesJob Title
Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for driving verification of DDR interfaces (DFI, DDR5, LPDDR5/LPDDR6) for server memory products and DIMMs. The role works across verification, design, firmware, BIOS and software teams to validate memory subsystem functionality, performance and power.
Small motivating note: work on verification for cutting-edge server memory interfaces used in AI and data-center systems.
Experience Level
Mid-level (experienced engineer). The posting requests an experienced candidate but does not specify required years of experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute verification plans for DDR5, LPDDR5 and DFI memory systems in server products.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, BIOS and software teams to ensure system alignment and enable full memory-interface feature sets.
- Analyze RTL and micro-architecture to plan verification strategies and support cross-functional debug with IP and design architects.
- Support post-silicon validation teams for product performance, power and functional issue debug and resolution.
- Contribute to verification methodology, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of team members.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills:
- Must-have: Practical experience verifying DDR interfaces (DDR5, LPDDR5) and DFI; strong SystemVerilog and UVM knowledge.
- Must-have: Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (Python or Perl) for testbench, test automation or tooling.
- Must-have: Ability to read and reason about RTL and micro-architecture; experience working with cross-functional teams (HW/FW/SW/BIOS).
- Must-have: Post-silicon debug experience and strong communication/presentation skills.
- Nice-to-have: Built VIPs and BFMs for memory interfaces; experience with GLS, NLP, XPROP simulations.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with SystemVerilog assertions, constraints, coverage and formal verification tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related discipline preferred.
