Design Verification Engineer - Acacia Networks
Role Summary
Work in the Device Verification Test (DVT) group to design and run automated testing for photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and optical modules. Collaborate with silicon photonics, optical packaging, ASIC/DSP, RF, and operations teams to support new product introduction, troubleshooting, and yield improvement.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and execute design verification test plans for PICs and modules.
- Develop test algorithms, calibration procedures, and automated test scripts for production and verification.
- Lead new product introduction activities: bring-up, debug, and characterization of new PICs and modules with cross-functional teams.
- Perform PIC-level failure analysis, troubleshooting, and contribute to yield improvement initiatives.
- Operate and maintain fiber-optic, RF, and EO/OE test and measurement equipment.
- Document verification procedures, test results, and verification evidence.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers; occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Hands-on laboratory experience with fiber-optic components and test & measurement equipment.
- Experience with high-bandwidth RF and EO/OE testing.
- Experience developing test automation and instrumentation control software (Python preferred).
- Strong problem solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with data analysis and debugging methodologies.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with client optics DSP and SerDes testing, DAC/ADC operation and control.
- Knowledge of optical communications (PAM4, coherent optics).
- Experience with JMP or similar data-analysis tools; C++, Matlab, and VPI modeling experience.
Education Requirements
Required degree/experience combinations: Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of related experience, or Master's degree plus 4 years of related experience, or PhD plus 2 years of related experience. Specific fields of study were not specified in the posting.
