Experience Level
Senior level. The posting specifies senior experience expectations (see Education Requirements for the degree + years breakdown).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test development, verification, and production support for optoelectronic components and modules.
- Lead design verification test planning and execution for PICs and modules.
- Develop automated test algorithms and calibration procedures.
- Support new product introduction: debug and bring-up new PICs and modules with cross-functional teams (RF, silicon photonics, DSP, module design).
- Document design verification activities and maintain verification artifacts.
- Support PIC-level failure analysis and troubleshooting to improve yields.
- Collaborate with operations to deliver high-throughput, high-yield test processes.
- Occasional international and domestic travel to support customers and internal collaboration.

Must-have skills and experience, followed by preferred skills.
-
Must-have: Prior hands-on laboratory experience working with test and measurement equipment.
-
Must-have: Experience with basic fiber-optic components and optical test setups.
-
Must-have: Practical experience in test execution, debug, and failure analysis for hardware devices.
-
Nice-to-have: High-bandwidth RF and EO/OE testing experience.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with client optics DSP, SerDes, and related testing.
-
Nice-to-have: Test automation and software skills, especially Python-based automation.
-
Nice-to-have: Knowledge of DAC/ADC operation, PAM4/coherent optical communications, data analysis tools (e.g., JMP), and programming/modeling (C++, MATLAB, VPI).
-
Nice-to-have: Strong problem solving, documentation, and communication skills.
