Job Title

Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Silicon Chassis verification team to verify next-generation interconnect and chassis IPs that scale across multiple product families. Build and execute verification plans, develop reusable environments and automation, and support first-pass silicon success through robust verification practices.

This role works closely with architecture, design, and software teams and operates in a hybrid work model with on-site time at the assigned Intel site.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience pattern in the posting: Bachelor's degree +5 years industry experience or Master's degree +4 years industry experience.

Responsibilities

Core verification duties at the IP and subsystem level.

  • Develop and execute verification plans and testbenches for interconnect and chassis IP/features.
  • Build reusable verification components, checkers, constrained-random tests, and debug infrastructure to improve coverage and productivity.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, and software teams on spec reviews, feature clarification, and bug triage.
  • Analyze simulation failures, perform root-cause analysis, and drive fixes to closure with clear technical communication.
  • Contribute to functional coverage planning, coverage closure, and quality signoff under technical guidance.
  • Support both simulation and formal verification efforts and continuously improve verification automation and regression quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience.

  • Hands-on coding experience in SystemVerilog, C/C++, and Python.
  • Experience with simulation-based verification methodologies (UVM/ABV), testbench development, debugging, and coverage-driven verification.
  • Familiarity with formal verification concepts and experience with formal tools is preferred.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of daily workflow for coding, debugging, and test development.
  • Exposure to interconnects and bus protocols such as AMBA AXI/ACE/CHI, PCIe, CXL, or UCIe.
  • Strong debugging, algorithmic problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across architecture, design, and software teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of cache coherency and memory consistency models.
  • Experience with external interfaces, system integration debug, emulation, or FPGA-based verification.
  • Experience with formal tools such as JasperGold or VC Formal, and exposure to RTL, physical design, or CAD tool flows.
  • Prior work with system IPs such as MMUs, SMMU, IOMMU, or interrupt controllers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience. Fields called out include Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. No certifications were specified.
