Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join MatX's silicon verification team to deliver functional, high-performance AI silicon. The role focuses on verification methodology, testbench and test development, and driving verification sign-off for subsystems and full-chip integration toward tapeout.

The team develops compute, memory management and high-speed connectivity features for GenAI accelerators.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Typical expectation is roughly 3–7 years of verification or related silicon experience; the company also hires across early, mid and senior career bands.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating and executing verification plans for block, subsystem and chip-level designs and driving closure toward milestones.

• Develop and scale verification methodology across blocks, subsystems, full-chip and system-level validation.
• Create testbenches, tests, assertions and related artifacts to meet structural and functional coverage targets.
• Own verification execution for assigned subsystems and chip-level features; track progress and report status.
• Plan and run intermediate and sign-off verification reviews toward design freeze and tapeout.
• Collaborate with architects, RTL designers and validation teams for pre-silicon and post-silicon activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; plus a few desirable skills.

• Must-have:
  • Production experience driving verification from architecture/specification to production silicon (concept-to-silicon).
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and verification methodologies such as UVM; assertion-based verification and simulated/formal techniques.
  • Programming/scripting experience in Python and C/C++ for verification; familiarity with hardware modeling languages (e.g., Bluespec) is acceptable.
  • Experience creating portable tests and drivers for silicon validation and post-silicon debug.
  • Strong understanding of micro-architecture and design concepts used in high-performance compute, memory management and high-speed connectivity.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and able to work on-site in Mountain View Tuesday–Thursday.
• Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with emulation and prototyping platforms and methodologies.
  • Hands-on participation in silicon bring-up and post-silicon debug.
