Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Baidu's SoC verification team in Sunnyvale to verify AI SoC blocks and full-chip functionality. The role focuses on UVM testbench development, RTL and gate-level functional verification, coverage closure, failure analysis, and coordination with design and systems engineering.
Experience Level
Mid-level β minimum 5 years of relevant design verification experience (UVM/SystemVerilog).
Responsibilities
Execute and lead functional verification efforts for blocks and full SoC. Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop UVM-based testbenches and verification environments.
- Create directed and constrained-random tests and regression suites; automate regressions.
- Perform RTL and gate-level simulation, debug failures, track and close verification bugs.
- Define verification plans and coverage models; drive coverage analysis to closure.
- Support mixed-signal co-simulation using Verilog models of analog IP.
- Assist emulation and silicon bring-up debugging by reproducing issues in simulation.
- Collaborate with design and systems teams to review specs, extract features, and refine verification scope.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:

Must-have: Minimum 5 years of UVM-based verification on complex projects.
- Advanced knowledge of ASIC verification flows, simulation, and testbench development.
- Advanced SystemVerilog and UVM methodology skills.
- Strong skills in constrained-random testing, coverage closure, gate-level simulation, and X-propagation.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, or Tcl).
- SoC/IP verification experience in areas such as PCIe, Ethernet, HBM, GDDR, DDR, MMU, or cache.
- Familiarity with C/C++.
- Experience with formal verification techniques (model checking, equivalence checking).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese.
