Job Title

Design Verification Architect (Sr Staff or above)

Role Summary

Lead architect for verification infrastructure of interconnect IPs and subsystems. Responsible for designing and overhauling scalable, reusable testbench environments to verify complex RTL and ensure program success.

Position is within Hardware Engineering and works cross-functionally with RTL, architecture, and software teams to deliver verified silicon across product tiers.

Experience Level

Senior (Sr Staff or above). Qualcomm indicates a senior-level expectation: typically 12+ years of hardware engineering experience. Alternate degree-based minima are listed (see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include driving testbench architecture and deploying reusable DV environments across products.

  • Define and implement scalable verification/testbench architectures using UVM and SystemVerilog.
  • Develop monitors, scoreboards, sequencers and sequences, and supporting scripts and automation.
  • Create verification plans from specifications and standards; drive methodology adoption.
  • Collaborate with RTL, architecture, software, and program teams to meet schedule and quality targets.
  • Ensure DV environments are reusable and deployable across different product tiers.
  • Support post-silicon bring-up and HW–SW debug activities as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • Extensive experience with UVM and SystemVerilog and strong debugging skills.
  • Experience with power DV methodologies and UPF.
  • Proven ability to build scalable, reusable testbenches and verification infrastructures.
  • Experience implementing monitors, scoreboards, sequencers, and automation to accelerate bug discovery.
  • Thorough understanding of digital design concepts and DV methodology/tools.
  • Familiarity with bus/protocols such as AHB, AXI, ACE, ACE‑Lite, and CHI.
  • Practical knowledge of ARM CPU and ARM-based SoC architecture, coherency protocols, and multi-core ARMv8 concepts.
  • Nice-to-have: post-silicon bring-up, silicon debug toolchains, and HW–SW debug experience.

Education Requirements

Posting references Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. The posting also lists degree-based experience alternatives (B.S. +6 years; M.S. +5 years; PhD +4 years) and indicates senior hires typically have ~12+ years of hardware engineering experience. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
