Design Verification Architect / Director

Role Summary

As Director of the Processor Verification team, you will lead verification of microprocessor cores and their peripherals, define verification plans, implement testbenches and diagnostics, and drive coverage closure.

Manage a team of 7–10 engineers and collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, and other cross-functional teams. We're doing work that matters.

Experience Level

Senior - 17+ years of design verification experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, executing, and delivering verification for CPU cores and memory subsystems.

  • Lead verification strategy and create/execute verification plans for complex CPU designs.
  • Design and implement simulation or emulation testbenches, assertions, coverage monitors, and assembly/C diagnostics.
  • Oversee coverage collection and drive coverage closure to meet verification targets.
  • Coordinate coverage scope and verification requirements with DV, architecture, design, and firmware teams.
  • Manage, mentor, and track work for a team of 7–10 verification engineers.
  • Develop and maintain fully automated verification flows and gate-level simulation methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have and nice-to-have skills and experience.

  • Must-have: Proven leadership and people-management experience running verification teams.
  • Must-have: Deep knowledge of computer architecture and design verification fundamentals; strong processor verification experience.
  • Must-have: Thorough experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and building reusable complex testbenches.
  • Must-have: Experience with assembly language programming.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or Unix shell.
  • Must-have: Experience with gate-level simulations.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with formal verification techniques.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience developing fully automated verification flows.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education Requirements

BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
