Job Title

Design Verification Architect

Role Summary

Design Verification Architect defines verification strategy, architectures, and methodologies to validate silicon blocks and their integration at chip level. The role works with architecture, design, analog/digital, and postsilicon teams to ensure functional correctness, coverage closure, and security validation.

Responsibilities

Core duties include creating verification plans, developing verification infrastructure, and driving closure activities.

  • Define verification strategy and methodologies for block and chip-level validation.
  • Architect and develop testbenches, UVM or formal verification environments, and integrate block testbenches into chip-level UVM.
  • Develop test strategies, test plans, and test bench architectures to meet specifications.
  • Create random test generation plans and run functional simulations to identify specification gaps.
  • Perform failure analysis, coverage analysis, and drive coverage closure.
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, architecture, and design teams and support postsilicon validation activities.
  • Define and implement security validation strategy and infrastructure to improve security coverage.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Experience with frontend validation methodologies, simulation environment development (testbench, checker), and simulation/emulation debugging.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in functional and code coverage closure and coverage-driven verification.
  • Must-have: Strong technical skills with hardware simulation and validation tools and programming in C/C++/Python and SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with IP validation tools, processes, and protocols.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with OVM/UVM-based test benches and formal verification tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of graphics architecture and microarchitectural features.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field (with ~6+ years experience) or a Master's degree in the same fields (with ~4+ years experience). Fields referenced include Electronics and Computer Engineering; no certifications were specified.
