Job Title

Design Validation Product Engineer, DEG Technology

Role Summary

The Design Validation Product Engineer performs silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation of new DRAM products within the DRAM Technology group. The role works cross-functionally with design, test, manufacturing, process, and quality teams to verify device behavior and resolve validation issues.

Responsibilities emphasize practical lab work, electrical and functional data analysis, and collaboration to ensure product readiness for manufacturing.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Suitable for early-career engineers, new graduates, or candidates with internship/co-op experience; no specific years of prior full-time experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include silicon bring-up, characterization, validation testing, and cross-functional debug.

  • Support DRAM design validation through silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation testing of new memory products.
  • Analyze electrical and functional data to identify trends, marginalities, and failure mechanisms.
  • Assist with debug of validation issues using simulations, test results, and laboratory measurements.
  • Operate engineering lab equipment and testers to characterize device behavior and performance.
  • Document validation results, test coverage, and observed behaviors; communicate findings to design, test, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities for successful performance in the role.

  • Strong fundamentals in digital logic, basic circuit analysis, and semiconductor device concepts.
  • Experience with data analysis, structured problem solving, and clear technical communication.
  • Programming or scripting experience in languages such as Python, Perl, MATLAB, or C/C++.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to semiconductor memory technologies (DRAM, SRAM, NAND) through coursework, projects, or internships.
  • Familiarity with simulation or CAD tools from academic or project experience.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, data visualization, or scripting for data analysis.
  • Internship, co-op, or research experience in hardware, validation, or test engineering.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. The posting also notes value from coursework, projects, or internships involving semiconductor memory technologies; no alternative "equivalent experience" language was specified.
