Job Title

Design/Senior Design Engineer – NAND Datapath (NVE Engineering)

Role Summary

Join the NVE Design Engineering Datapath team to design, optimize, and validate NAND datapath logic and high-speed interfaces for advanced NAND Flash memory products. The role works at block and sub-system level and contributes to full-chip integration.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, manufacturable, and reliable solutions across process nodes using industry-standard and Micron-proprietary tools.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting identifies this as a senior design engineering role; no explicit years-of-experience requirement listed.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, verification, integration, and support of high-speed datapath and interface circuitry.

  • Design and optimize high-speed datapath and interface circuits to achieve timing closure and target performance at block and sub-system level.
  • Translate system and interface requirements into circuit architectures and transistor-level implementations balancing performance, power, and area.
  • Perform functional, timing, and signal-integrity verification using advanced simulation methodologies, including PVT and corner analysis.
  • Collaborate with floorplanning, physical design, test, and product teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment with specifications.
  • Support silicon validation and debug; create design documentation and automation (scripting, AI-assisted methods) to improve productivity.

Requirements

Required and preferred technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.

  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal CMOS circuit design; solid understanding of timing, signal integrity, noise, variability, and deep-submicron device effects.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with industry-standard simulation and design flows (SPICE, mixed-signal tools, RTL/Verilog-based flows).
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving ability and effective communication skills for cross-functional work.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in NAND Flash or other non-volatile memory technologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with high-speed interfaces (DDR, LPDDR, GDDR, SerDes) and familiarity with layout constraints, physical design flows, and ESD considerations.
  • Nice-to-have: Design automation and scripting skills (e.g., Python) or familiarity with AI-assisted design approaches.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related technical field (as stated in the posting).
