Design for Test Engineer IV
eInfochipsJob Title
Design for Test Engineer IV
Role Summary
Responsible for design-for-test (DFT) implementation, validation, and delivery across ASIC/SoC projects. The role focuses on scan insertion, JTAG, ATPG coverage/DRC, and simulation debug with timing/SDF to ensure DFT deliverables meet customer and design requirements.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 8+ years of related experience. Works independently, resolves complex problems, and often leads project teams or mentors junior engineers.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform scan insertion, JTAG implementation, and ATPG DRC and coverage analysis.
- Run and debug simulations, including timing/SDF issues, and identify root causes of failures.
- Ensure timely delivery and technical quality of DFT deliverables to customers.
- Collaborate with cross-site design teams to define and implement DFT solutions.
- Develop and improve DFT methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Map business and project requirements to customized DFT solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proven hands-on experience with scan insertion, JTAG, and ATPG coverage/DRC.
- Strong simulation debugging skills, including timing analysis and SDF usage.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose root causes and implement effective fixes.
- Experience coordinating with design teams and delivering customer-facing DFT artifacts.
- Track record of improving DFT methodology and introducing new tools or techniques.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-site collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience leading project teams and training junior staff.
Education Requirements
Typically requires a four-year degree (Bachelor's). An advanced degree may substitute for experience (the posting notes 6 years with an advanced degree vs. 8 years with a bachelor's). Equivalent practical experience is explicitly acceptable. No specific field of study was specified in the source.
