Design Engineering Intern
Role Summary
Internship in RF Design Engineering within Qorvo's Advanced Cellular business group. Contribute to the design and integration of acoustic filters and RF front-end modules, perform simulations and characterization, and document and present technical results.
Experience Level
Internship - role for college students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. No specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Design BAW/SAW acoustic filter components for wireless RF applications.
- Support laminate integration of filter components into RFFE modules.
- Run circuit and electromagnetic (EM) simulations using commercial and internal tools.
- Evaluate designs against product specifications for RF performance, cost, and schedule.
- Work with characterization team to test and diagnose RF components.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design flow, methods, and processes.
- Document and present technical results to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
- Analog/RF circuit design coursework or hands-on experience.
- Experience with simulation and design tools such as ADS, AWR, HFSS, Momentum, FEM tools, Cadence, or similar.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills; self-starter capable of working independently.
- Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to RF measurement equipment (spectrum and network analyzers) and familiarity with Dynamic Link tools.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. Preferred: MS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF & Microwaves; nearing completion of coursework is preferred.
