Job Title
Design Engineering Architect
Role Summary
Senior analog/mixed-signal design engineer responsible for driving customer engagements and delivering customer-specific features for IP product lines (SerDes, ADC, high-speed I/O).
Work directly with customers and internal teams to translate requirements into IP architecture, guide implementation, and resolve technical issues to production-ready IP.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 18β20 years of relevant experience in CMOS SerDes, ADC, or high-speed I/O IC design and development.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage direct customer engagements for multiple IP product lines and customer-specific feature sets.
- Translate customer technical requirements into IP architecture, design priorities, and verification scope.
- Drive technical discussions, present impact across engagements, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Architect, review, and guide implementation of SerDes, ADC, and high-speed I/O circuits and subsystems.
- Troubleshoot and independently resolve complex circuit, timing, jitter, and signal integrity issues.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, verification, product) to deliver customer-ready IP.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 18β20 years of experience in CMOS SerDes, ADC, or high-speed I/O IC design and development.
- Solid technical background in IP design and verification and experience in a direct customer-facing role.
- Working knowledge of common SerDes standards and their electrical requirements.
- Thorough understanding of jitter, signal equalization techniques, and signal integrity principles.
- Design experience in SerDes circuit blocks: Driver, Receiver, Serializer, Deserializer, Phase Interpolator, low-jitter PLL, high-speed clock distribution, bias and bandgap, and voltage regulators.
- Proficient design experience with ADC architectures and implementations.
- Excellent problem solving and analog aptitude; strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
