Design Engineer, Verification (2026 New College Graduate)

Role Summary

Entry-level design verification position focused on hardware verification of RISC-V processors/cores. The role contributes to testbench and test development, coverage closure, and verification flow/methodology improvements within a silicon design environment.

Experience Level

Entry-level — new college graduate or recent graduate; approximately 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities involve verification of processor/core IP and development of verification infrastructure.

  • Review design and RISC‑V standard specifications.
  • Develop testbenches, test plans, and test cases using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Debug test cases and drive coverage closure.
  • Create models and develop verification flows and methodologies.
  • Support IP/SoC verification processes and integration activities.
  • Follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security procedures while performing duties.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.

  • Proficiency with Hardware Description Languages: Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Understanding of IP or SoC development and verification processes.
  • Familiarity with UNIX operating systems and basic assembly programming.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication and documentation skills.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and languages.
  • Nice-to-have: prior internship or co-op experience, demonstrated leadership in projects or competitions, and project management ability.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, or a closely related field with coursework in computer architecture and VLSI design. Candidates must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 on the date of joining.
