Job Title

Design Engineer - Memory Design

Role Summary

Join Arm's Physical IP Division to develop and validate SRAM and register-file memory IP instances for advanced process nodes used across SoCs. The role focuses on memory design, characterization, verification and release for high-speed, low-power, high-density applications.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 2–5 years of relevant experience in memory design or characterization.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include designing, validating, and preparing memory IP instances for production.

  • Design, margining, characterization, verification and release of memory instances (SRAM, register files, single-/dual-port memories).
  • Prepare and validate multiple design views: Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF and GDS.
  • Execute characterization and margining flows and interpret results for performance, power and yield trade-offs.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting to support verification and characterization flows.
  • Collaborate with IP verification, process and EDA tool teams to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Produce release documentation and deliverables for memory IP instances.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional traits.

  • Strong understanding of SRAM design, digital circuit fundamentals and SoC concepts.
  • Good understanding of device physics relevant to memory behavior.
  • Proficiency with scripting (Shell, TCL) and experience applying automation; familiarity with using AI tools in flows.
  • Experience with EDA tools and memory characterization/verification flows.
  • Good problem-solving, debugging and analytical skills; able to work independently and in a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: understanding of computer architecture.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering.
