Job Title

Design Engineer - Memory Design

Role Summary

Work in Arm's Physical IP division to design, characterize, verify and release memory IP instances (SRAM, register files, cache variants) for advanced process technologies. The team focuses on high-speed, low-power, and high-density memory solutions for a range of applications from mobile to server.

Experience Level

Mid-level (2–5 years of relevant experience)

Responsibilities

Deliver memory IP instances through design, verification, characterization and release while working with EDA flows and automation.

  • Design and margin SRAM and register-file instances (single/dual port, cache variants).
  • Perform characterization, verification and margining across process/voltage/temperature corners.
  • Produce and validate multiple design views: RTL/Verilog, timing/liberty, schematics, LEF and GDS.
  • Use EDA tools for layout, simulation, timing and signoff flows.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting to support memory development and verification.
  • Debug issues, analyze failures, and implement design or flow fixes.
  • Work independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team.

Requirements

Core technical and professional skills required for the role.

Must-have

  • 2–5 years experience in memory design or characterization.
  • Strong understanding of SRAM and digital-circuit fundamentals and SoC concepts.
  • Good understanding of device physics relevant to memory design.
  • Working knowledge of scripting (Shell, TCL) and ability to apply automation.
  • Problem-solving, debugging skills, and ability to work both independently and in teams.

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with computer architecture concepts.
  • Experience using AI tools to assist design/automation tasks.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering (or closely related field) is stated as required in the posting.
