Job Title

Design Engineer, HIG HBM Design

Role Summary

Work on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) analog and mixed-signal circuitry for PHY and supporting infrastructure. Support schematic implementation, modeling, simulation, integration, validation, and silicon bring-up while collaborating with design, verification, packaging, and test teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, simulation, validation, and integration of PHY-adjacent mixed-signal blocks to support high-speed memory interfaces and silicon bring-up.

  • Design and integrate PHY-adjacent and base-die mixed-signal circuits; implement schematics and run simulations.
  • Develop and maintain behavioral models (Verilog-A/AMS real-number format or SystemVerilog) for system-level verification.
  • Perform block-level SPICE and mixed-signal simulations; analyze waveform behavior and corner cases.
  • Support validation activities including parasitic modeling, verification plan support, and calibration/adaptability checks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration, simulation debug, and silicon bring-up readiness.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • Experience in analog or mixed-signal design, verification, or PHY-adjacent development.
  • Strong understanding of device and circuit fundamentals (MOS behavior, biasing, gain, stability) and digital logic basics.
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, HSPICE, Xcelium/AMS, or VCS/Verdi.
  • Exposure to high-speed interface concepts including clocking, jitter, termination, sensing, and calibration.
  • Ability to analyze simulation results and contribute to silicon debug and bring-up activities.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Verilog-A/AMS real-number modeling or post-layout parasitic extraction and analysis.
  • Exposure to statistical/Monte Carlo simulation techniques and mixed-signal verification workflows.
  • Experience with memory interfaces or HBM architectures, lab bring-up, or simulation-to-silicon correlation.
  • Scripting or programming for automation and data analysis (e.g., Python or MATLAB).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (explicitly stated as minimum qualifications). No equivalent-experience language or certifications were specified.
