Job Title

Design Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the IC design team responsible for physical ASIC design of high-speed CMOS products used in AI, cellular, networking, computing, and storage applications. Deliver physical implementation from floorplanning through mask release and post-release debug.

Work on complex high-speed ASICs, coordinate with customers and cross-functional teams, and ensure timing, verification, and integration goals are met.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). The posting does not specify an explicit years-of-experience requirement.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities span physical implementation, verification, and integration of high-speed ASIC designs.

  • Customer communication and requirements coordination
  • Floor planning chips and blocks
  • Routing and timing analysis for mission and test modes; achieve timing closure
  • Physical integration of custom logic and standard-cell blocks
  • Integration of memories, SerDes, I/O, test, and clocking structures
  • Address power, area, and performance trade-offs
  • Perform physical verification to ensure error-free artwork/mask release
  • Debug complex design issues during development and after product release
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Requirements

Essential skills, work authorization, and personal attributes expected for the role.

  • Hands-on experience taking high-speed (>2 GHz) integrated circuit designs from concept through product release (must)
  • Experience with floor planning, routing, timing analysis and closure, and physical verification (must)
  • Experience with physical integration of custom logic and standard-cell blocks (must)
  • Ability to debug complex design issues during and after release (must)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; self-motivated and able to work independently (must)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (must)
  • Familiarity with integration of memories, SerDes, I/O, test and clocking structures; knowledge of power integrity and signal integrity (nice-to-have)
