Job Title

DE/DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Work on design-for-test (DFT) strategy and implementation for ASIC/SoC projects. The role focuses on scan insertion, ATPG, scan verification, and silicon test debug, coordinating with design, verification, physical design, and ATE engineering teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Multiple project experience in DFT and at least ~4 years working with ATPG methods is expected.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include driving DFT strategy, executing ATPG and scan verification flows, and supporting silicon test/debug activities.

  • Develop hierarchical DFT strategy, including scan and ATPG planning.
  • Perform ATPG and scan coverage analysis; debug coverage gaps and drive design fixes.
  • Execute scan verification at RTL and gate levels.
  • Prepare scan content and deliverables for silicon engineering and test execution.
  • Debug scan patterns on testers and support pattern validation on ATE.
  • Collaborate with Design, Verification, Physical Design, and ATE engineers to satisfy DFT and scan requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience follow; preferred items are listed separately.

  • Proven experience with multiple DFT scan design and verification projects.
  • Experience with DFT techniques, ASIC DFT synthesis, simulation, and verification flows.
  • Practical experience performing ATPG methods and scan coverage debugging (≥4 years indicated in posting).
  • Ability to perform RTL and gate-level scan verification and to prepare test deliverables for silicon.
  • Experience debugging scan patterns on test equipment and working with tester/ATE teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with EDA tools such as Mentor/Siemens Tessent.
  • Experience integrating IP (memories, test controllers, TAP, MBIST) and fault modeling.
  • Experience with SoC silicon bring-up, silicon debug, and validation on automatic test equipment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is listed as preferred.
