DDR Design Verification Staff Engineer
Role Summary
The DDR Design Verification Staff Engineer is a senior verification role in the Infra IP team focused on verification of LPDDR/DDR IPs and subsystems. The position builds verification infrastructure, integrates VIPs, executes test plans, debugs failures, and drives functional and code coverage closure.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff). The posting targets experienced verification engineers; one listed minimum is 11+ years of hardware engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Create DV infrastructure and integrate verification IP (VIP).
- Develop and execute test plans for LPDDR/DDR IPs and subsystems.
- Write assertions, implement monitors/scoreboards/sequencers, and collect/close code and functional coverage.
- Debug failures, analyze coverage data, add debug capabilities, and triage build/test issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure verification completeness and program success.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong SystemVerilog and UVM skills and demonstrated debug capability.
- Experience with verification components: monitors, scoreboards, sequencers, sequences and scripting to automate tests and accelerate bug discovery.
- Thorough understanding of digital design concepts and DV methodologies/tools.
- Practical experience with DDR/LPDDR families and generations (e.g., DDR2/3/4/5) and related subsystems.
- Familiarity with bus protocols such as AHB, AXI, ACE, and ACE-Lite.
- Comfort working with large test benches, checking builds, and improving debug/coverage to close verification gaps.
- Senior-level industry experience (posting cites 11+ years of hardware engineering experience).
Education Requirements
Preferred degree: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, Electronics, Information Systems, or a related technical field; the posting also allows equivalent practical experience.
