Job Title

DC Characterization ATE Test Engineer (up to Senior)

Role Summary

Work on characterization and manufacturing test solutions for IO circuitry in leading-edge SoC products. The role sits in Product Development and Test Engineering and collaborates with IC design, system engineering, foundry, manufacturing, and applications teams to qualify designs, improve yield, and reduce test time.

Experience Level

Senior (title indicates up to Senior). The posting indicates a broad entry window (new graduate through several years of experience); see Education Requirements for formal experience-by-degree details.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute characterization and manufacturing test strategies for IO on advanced SoCs and support first-silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing.

  • Develop characterization and test plans for IO and related circuits.
  • Specify DFT and test-hardware requirements and create ATE tests, routines, and programs.
  • Drive first-silicon debug and device qualification with foundries.
  • Perform parametric data analysis and statistical evaluation of device performance.
  • Drive failure analysis to resolution and work with cross-functional teams on fixes.
  • Analyze high-volume manufacturing yields and implement test-time reductions.
  • Document results, maintain test artifacts, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for successful performance in this role.

  • Experience in hardware engineering, test development, characterization, or related roles (entry to several years of experience expected).
  • Familiarity with ATE workflows and test-program creation; hands-on ATE experience preferred.
  • Understanding of electrical/electronic fundamentals, digital, analog, mixed-signal and VLSI concepts.
  • Experience working on Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
  • Programming/scripting skills (examples: C/C++, Java, Perl, Python, Visual Basic) for test automation and data analysis.
  • Ability to analyze test data statistically and perform technical data-driven debugging.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and documentation skills; ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Experience with failure analysis and cross-functional coordination in time-critical projects.

Nice-to-have:

  • Hands-on experience with Advantest 93K ATE.
  • Direct experience with IO pad design, DC parameter testing, DDRIO, HSIO or high-speed SerDes characterization.
  • Advanced statistical analysis or yield-analysis experience.

Education Requirements

The posting specifies degree-based minimums: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field; or Master's degree in those fields; or PhD in those fields. It also provides experience-by-degree guidance: Bachelor's +2 years hardware-engineering experience, Master's +1 year, or PhD (no experience stated). The listing elsewhere also referenced new graduates up to ~5 years of experience.
