Job Title
Data Scientist
Role Summary
Work within the Advanced Packaging Technology and Manufacturing (APTM) Yield Systems team to develop data-driven solutions that improve manufacturing yield and operational performance. Collaborate with yield analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate manufacturing problems into scalable analytics, automation, and production-ready software.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience: 2β4+ years in relevant industry roles; the posting specifies 3+ years with a Bachelor's or 2+ years with a Master's.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include designing and delivering data science and engineering solutions for manufacturing yield improvement.
- Partner with yield analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to define system requirements from manufacturing problems.
- Design, implement, and deploy scalable data science models and computer vision solutions for yield analysis.
- Build automated ETL/data pipelines and production workflows to support real-time decisioning and dashboards.
- Develop and maintain software tools, APIs, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to manufacturing teams.
- Analyze fab and advanced packaging data to detect anomalies, identify patterns, and drive yield improvements.
- Support cross-functional implementation and production support of deployed systems.
- Communicate technical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging ML/analytics and automation methodologies relevant to yield systems.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience. Preferred items are listed separately.
- Experience with advanced packaging and fab data (defects, yield, FDC) and defect-data workflows/automation (Fab Tools, Station Controllers, Adaptive Metrology) β >=1 year.
- Proficient in Python for data pipelines, backend/frontend integration, ETL, and API development.
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) and building data integrations.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment.
- Hands-on with end-to-end data engineering: ingestion, cleaning, analytics, modeling, evaluation, and deployment.
- Experience supporting production data flows, dashboards, or tools used by engineering teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work in changing, ambiguous environments with minimal supervision.
- This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years, in Computer Science, Data Science, or other Engineering disciplines. Equivalent practical experience (industry experience, internships, or relevant coursework/research) is acceptable.
