Job Title

Data Scientist

Role Summary

Analyze semiconductor manufacturing data to identify yield detractors, build predictive models, and deliver automated analytics that improve process variation and device yield. Partner with Process Integration and Process Engineering teams to perform root-cause analysis and implement data-driven process improvements.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant data science, analytics, or scripting experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze inline, param, and probe data to identify top yield detractors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to extract, cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from SQL databases, sensor networks, and fabrication tool logs.
  • Build statistical models and machine learning solutions to solve yield and defect reduction problems.
  • Support Design of Experiments (DOE) and analyze experimental results to improve process capability and margins.
  • Create automated reports and dashboards to present technical findings to engineering stakeholders.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights responsibly to improve efficiency and quality of work.
  • Perform root-cause investigations and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement corrective actions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or scripting applications.
  • Strong Python programming skills and practical experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with statistical methodologies and tools such as SPC, DOE, and FDC/EDA for data-driven problem solving.
  • Experience building data pipelines and automations for large, disparate manufacturing datasets.
  • At least 2 years applying data visualization tools (for example Dash, Plotly, or Angular) to present complex engineering data.
  • Willingness to learn semiconductor manufacturing principles and collaborate with equipment and integration engineers.
  • Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior experience or internship in the semiconductor industry or electronics manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, equipment, and device physics (e.g., CMOS).
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics or automated analysis in manufacturing and yield applications.
  • Knowledge of memory architectures such as DRAM or NAND.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related engineering field is required.
