Job Title

Data Scientist

Role Summary

Support semiconductor manufacturing engineering by analyzing process, inline, and probe data to identify yield detractors and enable continuous improvement. Build data pipelines, statistical models, and automated dashboards that inform defect reduction and process optimization.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” requires at least six months (0.5 years) of hands-on data science, analytics, or scripting experience.

Responsibilities

Work with manufacturing and integration engineers to convert data into actionable insights that improve yield and process stability.

  • Analyze inline, parameter, and probe data to identify top yield detractors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Extract, cleanse, and transform data from SQL databases, sensor networks, and fabrication tool logs.
  • Develop statistical models and machine learning solutions to address yield and defect issues.
  • Support Design of Experiments (DOE) and analyze experiment results with process and integration engineers.
  • Create automated reports and dashboards (e.g., Dash, Plotly, Angular) to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness within organizational standards.
  • Identify and share data-driven and AI-enabled process improvements to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional behaviors for immediate contribution. Nice-to-have items are listed after the must-haves.

  • Minimum six months hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or scripting.
  • Strong Python programming skills and at least six months working experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with statistical tools and methodologies such as SPC, DOE, FDC/EDA, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Experience applying data visualization tools (e.g., Dash, Plotly, Angular) to present complex engineering data.
  • Willingness to learn semiconductor manufacturing principles and collaborate closely with equipment and integration engineers.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior experience or internship in semiconductor manufacturing or electronics production.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, equipment, and device physics (e.g., CMOS fundamentals).
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics applied to manufacturing and yield; knowledge of memory architectures (DRAM/NAND).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI, or a related Engineering field.
