Customer Quality Champion, Principal Project Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead customer-quality efforts for strategic semiconductor customers, acting as the customer advocate and driving cross-functional resolution of quality and execution risks. Collaborate with Engineering, Verification, Methodology, Quality, Program Management, and Customer Support to improve product quality, reduce escalations, and ensure release readiness.
Experience Level
Senior level - requires 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience in engineering, quality, verification, methodology, program management, or customer-facing technical leadership.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on customer advocacy, risk management, and cross-functional execution to improve quality and resolve escalations.
- Serve as Customer Quality Champion for assigned strategic customers; build trusted relationships and represent the voice of the customer.
- Develop deep understanding of customer workflows, silicon bring-up, and debug challenges to assess quality risks and priorities.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving and escalation management; drive 8D, root-cause containment, corrective and preventive actions to closure.
- Translate customer feedback and bring-up findings into systemic improvement actions to prevent recurrence.
- Define and drive quality operating rhythms: reviews, dashboards, metrics, action tracking, and tradeoff decisions across schedule, quality, and customer impact.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and leadership capabilities to perform the role.
- Deep digital and/or mixed-signal IP methodology expertise: development, verification, integration, signoff, silicon validation, and bring-up.
- Proven experience leading customer escalations and continuous improvement using 8D and RCCA processes.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor product development, quality systems, risk management, and release-readiness processes.
- Ability to lead cross-functional programs and influence without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder-management skills; disciplined execution using dashboards and metrics.
- Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Confluence, and Jira.
Nice-to-have: prior program management or methodology leadership experience in complex semiconductor projects.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
