Customer Engagement Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Provide on-site technical support and customer-facing applications work for KLA tools, focusing on wafer characterization, installations/upgrades, demonstrations, and customer training. Work with regional product and technical teams to execute engagement projects and improve customer outcomes.
Experience Level
Entry-level (suitable for candidates with approximately 0β1 years of relevant experience as indicated in the posting).
Responsibilities
Key duties include supporting customers, executing test plans, and documenting solutions.
- Respond to customer requests and provide on-site technical support for wafer characterization.
- Execute detailed tool installation and upgrade test plans.
- Diagnose and resolve routine to moderately complex customer problems.
- Provide operational and advanced training to customers and assist in training new engineers after certification.
- Prepare and demonstrate products to customers; support H2H, collaborations, beta projects, and gap analysis.
- Contribute to development and execution of customer wafer test plans and perform detailed wafer characterization.
- Document technical solutions and create best known methods (BKMs) for supported products.
- Lead small projects and gather competitive and fab-profile information for regional product/technical managers.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Proficient with computer applications for data presentation and analysis.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; strong technical writing.
- Proficient in English.
- Ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment; responsible and a team player.
- Good working knowledge of customer processing and of various applications.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic customer issues.
Nice-to-have:
- IC fab process development experience.
- Knowledge of defect detection, metrology, and yield management.
