Job Title

Custom SOC IP Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Verify ASIC SoCs and IP blocks with a focus on cache coherency and AMBA-based interconnects (AXI, ACE, CHI). Work with architecture, software/firmware, design, modeling, emulation, and post-silicon teams to develop and execute first-time-right verification plans for high-performance CPU/GPU memory subsystems.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires 5+ years of ASIC verification experience (cache coherency or memory subsystem focus).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and perform ASIC verification for processing blocks in SoCs, emphasizing cache coherency and complex memory hierarchies.
  • Develop and execute test plans for cache coherency using UVM-based environments.
  • Design and implement constrained-random and directed SystemVerilog testbenches targeting multi-level caches and interconnect fabrics.
  • Integrate verification assets with software/firmware, C/C++ models, emulation, and post-silicon validation activities.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Design, Modeling, Emulation, and Validation teams to ensure coverage and correctness across memory subsystems.
  • Define and improve silicon and platform verification strategies and methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of ASIC verification experience, including cache coherency or memory subsystem verification.
  • Strong SystemVerilog and UVM methodology expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with AMBA protocols, especially AXI, ACE, and CHI.
  • Familiarity with SoC architectures, memory models, and CPU-cache interactions.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL) and working knowledge of C/C++ for testbench or model integration.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with formal verification or assertion-based verification (SVA).
  • Knowledge of RISC-V or ARM architectures and system-level cache subsystems.
  • Exposure to coherency modeling tools, verification IPs, or emulation platforms (e.g., Palladium, Veloce).
  • Experience with GPU-based verification.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
