Job Title

Cross-Domain Electronics Systems Engineering Intern (Strategic Student Program, Spring 2027)

Role Summary

Internship on the Cross Product Solution Management team to research and prototype end-to-end engineering workflows that span semiconductor design, electronics, software, mechanical integration, AI, and PLM.

Work with senior engineers to develop prototypes, evaluate technologies, document findings, and help demonstrate a "silicon-to-rack" reference workflow across EDA, PLM, and system-level tools.

Experience Level

Internship / Entry-level β€” targeted at university students (sophomore or above). Candidates should be available to work full-time starting Spring 2027 and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

Contribute to research, prototyping, evaluation, and documentation of cross-domain engineering workflows.

  • Research and evaluate emerging engineering technologies and workflows.
  • Develop software prototypes, automation tools, and proofs-of-concept.
  • Explore digital, analog, semiconductor, PCB, and system-level design concepts.
  • Document technical findings via white papers, tutorials, and technical guides.
  • Investigate AI-assisted engineering and documentation workflows.
  • Use industry EDA and PLM tools to help define an end-to-end digital thread from silicon design through system deployment.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and practical expectations for candidates.

  • Currently enrolled as a university student (sophomore year or above).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Available to work full-time starting Spring 2027 in a hybrid model (Wilsonville, OR or Detroit, MI).
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and learn quickly.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to digital logic, FPGA, embedded systems, or electronics design.
  • Experience with Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Linux or scripting environments.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or relevant project experience.

Education Requirements

Seeking students pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related STEM field. Candidates should be enrolled (sophomore or above) and meet the stated minimum GPA (3.0). No certifications or equivalent-experience language specified.
