CPU Validation Engineer

Role Summary

The CPU Validation Engineer will perform post-silicon system validation for next-generation Intel processors, working with architecture and design teams to verify logic, features, and platform behavior.

The role is on the System Validation (SV) team within Silicon and Platform Engineering Group and focuses on test development, validation tooling, debugging silicon issues, and ensuring coverage and quality of CPU designs.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Hiring targets candidates with approximately 0–1+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree (0 years if holding a Master's degree).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, executing, and improving validation tests and tools for CPU features and debugging silicon issues.

  • Create detailed test plans based on intimate knowledge of CPU functional blocks and architectures.
  • Develop new test content and validation tools, following software development and QA processes.
  • Execute post-silicon/system-level validation and ensure test coverage and effectiveness.
  • Debug silicon and root-cause failures individually and in cross-functional teams.
  • Improve software performance and validation efficiency.

Requirements
