CPU MicroArchitect / RTL Engineer - Site Lead
Role Summary
Lead microarchitecture and RTL development for high-performance, low-power CPU cores within Apple’s Silicon Engineering Group. This role drives specification, RTL delivery, verification, and cross-functional coordination for the CPU RTL team at the Beaverton site.
Technical leadership and hands-on RTL contribution are required to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals.

Responsibilities
Primary technical and leadership responsibilities include:
- Microarchitecture development and specification from high-level exploration to detailed microarchitectural design.
- RTL ownership: develop, assess, and refine RTL to meet PPA (power, performance, area) and timing objectives.
- Support testbench development and simulation for functional and performance verification.
- Explore and validate performance strategies; correlate architectural expectations with RTL behavior.
- Coordinate design delivery with multifunctional teams to address timing, area, reliability, testability, and power.
- Provide technical leadership and management for the CPU RTL team at the site, including mentoring and cross-team coordination.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Deep knowledge of microprocessor architecture and high-performance core design.
- Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL for RTL design.
- Experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools for verification and root-cause analysis.
- Strong understanding of logic design principles and the timing and power implications of RTL decisions.
- Proven experience delivering RTL that meets tight timing, area, and power targets and working cross-functionally with physical design and verification teams.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and people management experience in an RTL or microarchitecture team.
Education Requirements
