CPU Design Methodology Engineer

Role Summary

Lead development of system-level methodologies, automation and quality checks to enable efficient, scalable SoC builds for NVIDIA CPU projects. Work closely with RTL/IP teams, physical design, CAD, package, DFT and software teams to streamline front-end integration and chip assembly.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 8+ years of experience in chip design with specialization in SoC integration and design automation.

Responsibilities

You will define and implement methodologies and tools, drive front-end quality, and identify process improvements across SOC integration.

  • Define and develop system-level methodologies and tools to build SoCs efficiently and at scale.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the front-end chip implementation process and propose corrective automation or flow changes.
  • Own front-end design quality checks and reviews to deliver high-quality RTL to physical design.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with ASIC/unit-level teams, physical design, CAD, package design, DFT and software groups.
  • Implement automation and scripts to accelerate integration and reduce manual effort.

Requirements

Core technical skills and hands-on experience required for the role.

  • 8+ years of experience in chip design focusing on SoC integration and design automation.
  • Proven experience with RTL design (Verilog) and verification methodologies (UVM, SystemVerilog).
  • Experience with SoC design/integration flows and front-end integration practices.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills (Perl, Python or equivalent) for automation tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
  • Nice-to-have: experience in synthesis and physical design.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
