CPU Design Manager and Site Lead
Role Summary
Lead and expand a multidisciplinary CPU design organization in Bangalore, responsible for pre-silicon validation, structural design, design automation, DFT, and related disciplines. Serve as the Bangalore site lead, building organizational capability, driving execution, and partnering with global teams to deliver high-performance CPU products.
This is a senior engineering leadership role focused on technical delivery, team growth, and cross-site collaboration.
Experience Level
Senior β 12+ years of semiconductor industry experience with 7+ years of direct engineering management.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include technical leadership, people management, and program delivery.
- Lead day-to-day execution of complex, high-performance CPU design and development efforts.
- Manage and grow a multidisciplinary engineering organization across verification, RTL, structural design, DA, DFT, and related functions.
- Develop hiring, capability-building, and succession strategies to support roadmap growth and long-term scaling.
- Ensure predictable delivery of quality designs that meet performance, power, area, schedule, and cost targets.
- Partner with architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, post-silicon validation, and product engineering teams to meet program goals.
- Participate in CPU roadmap and resource planning; identify and mitigate technical and organizational risks.
- Remove execution barriers and drive continuous process and engineering improvements.
- Build cross-geography partnerships and represent the Bangalore site in global leadership forums.
- Coach and develop engineering leaders and technical contributors to strengthen succession pipelines.
- Drive data-driven operational excellence and engineering best practices.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical and leadership qualifications.

Must-have: 12+ years of semiconductor industry experience with significant hands-on exposure to silicon design principles, methodologies, and development flows.

Must-have: 7+ years of direct engineering management experience and a demonstrated track record of scaling organizations of 50β100+ engineers across multiple functional domains.

Must-have: Proven delivery of multiple SoC and/or IP programs from architecture through tapeout and high-volume production ramp on leading-edge process technologies.

Must-have: Strong organizational leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; experience driving execution across complex, cross-functional engineering organizations.

Nice-to-have: Extensive physical design experience for high-performance/high-speed silicon and deep familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and vendor ecosystems.

Nice-to-have: CPU microarchitecture knowledge and hands-on CPU design experience.

Nice-to-have: 3β5 years leading geographically distributed engineering hubs and experience building and scaling new site capabilities while maintaining engineering culture.

Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
