Job Title
CPU Circuit Design Lead
Role Summary
Lead circuit design analysis and methodology for memory blocks and datapath subsystems within the P-Core design team. Drive high-frequency (>5GHz) and low-power digital memory implementations and collaborate with layout, floorplanning, and back-end teams to deliver silicon-ready designs.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8β10+ years of relevant industry experience working on memory design, high-speed digital or CPU circuit design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and enable design methodologies for memory blocks to meet high-frequency and low-power targets.
- Lead analysis and implementation of SRAM/RF/ROM and related datapath subsystems.
- Perform and guide static timing analysis and timing closure activities.
- Coordinate closely with layout, floorplanning, and back-end teams for physical implementation.
- Implement and validate new features during back-end design stages.
- Lead post-silicon memory analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Account for statistical variation and reliability during design and validation.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience expected:
- Proven track record in memory block and datapath design for high-speed, low-power digital designs.
- Expertise in static timing analysis and timing closure methodologies.
- Experience collaborating with layout, floorplanning, and back-end implementation teams.
- Experience with post-silicon analysis and debugging of memory-related issues.
- Strong understanding of statistical variation and its impact on circuit design.
- Preferred: familiarity with Verilog and circuit simulation (SPICE) techniques.
- Preferred: scripting skills (Tcl, Perl, Python) and exposure to synthesis and place-and-route (P&R) tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education Requirements
Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 8 years of related experience, or a Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 10 years of related experience (as stated in the posting).
