CPU Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and develop custom digital circuits for CPU blocks, including memory and caches, with focus on power, performance, area, timing, and yield. Work on circuit design, simulation, verification, DFT, and automation within the CPU circuit design team and collaborate with architecture and layout teams to deliver robust silicon.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Accountabilities include circuit design, verification, testability, and cross-functional engineering to meet CPU block goals.
- Design, simulate, and verify custom digital circuits, floorplans, and schematics for CPU blocks (including memory and caches).
- Optimize designs for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
- Create block-level DFT models, develop memory test tools, and automate design and verification flows.
- Characterize memory instances and memory compilers; drive leakage and low-power improvements.
- Collaborate with CPU architecture, layout, validation, and other cross-functional teams to report progress and resolve design issues.

- Experience with CMOS circuit design and VLSI.
- Experience in digital logic design and optimization.
- Knowledge of circuit trade-offs for power, performance, and area.
- Familiarity with circuit simulation and verification methodologies.
- Preferred: low-power implementation techniques and memory design experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another STEM field; or a Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM.
