Role Summary
Develop firmware for CPLDs and FPGAs that control power sequencing and platform management for ML acceleration servers. The role belongs to the ML Acceleration Server Firmware team and focuses on reliable power control, protocol handling, and firmware validation at fleet scale.

Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities include implementation, validation, and operational readiness of firmware for server power and control subsystems.
- Design and implement CPLD and FPGA code for power sequencing and protocol management (PWM, I2C, SPI).
- Develop systems software and embedded drivers to interface with hardware controllers.
- Define and implement test and automation flows for firmware validation and regression.
- Profile and optimize firmware for performance and reliability in production servers.
- Implement error detection, recovery, and monitoring appropriate for large-scale AWS deployments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; a short list of desirable additions follows.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 3+ years working with hardware description languages (e.g., Verilog, VHDL, SystemC) for RTL development.
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded development; experience with low-level driver code.
- Familiarity with automation, continuous integration, and fleet metrics for validation and deployment.
- Experience with protocol implementation for power and platform management (PWM, I2C, SPI).
- Nice to have: experience with System-on-Module or platform firmware at datacenter scale and familiarity with fleet monitoring tools.
