Job Title

Confidential Computing Software Architect

Role Summary

Design and implement software and firmware enabling confidential computing on RISC-V and SiFive platforms. Collaborate with CPU, SoC platform, security, and software teams to define and deliver platform security features and system software for confidential workloads.

Engage with customers, partners, and standards organizations to drive platform security requirements and influence RISC-V ecosystem security standards.

Responsibilities

Contribute to architecture, design, implementation, and specification of confidential computing capabilities across hardware and software stacks.

  • Plan and implement system software and firmware for confidential compute workloads on SiFive/RISC-V platforms.
  • Define and develop platform security features in collaboration with CPU, SoC, security, and firmware teams.
  • Author, review, and maintain hardware and software specifications.
  • Work on virtualization, hypervisor integration, and Linux-related issues for confidential computing.
  • Integrate trusted execution environments (TEEs) and peripheral security mechanisms.
  • Engage with customers and partners to gather requirements and validate designs.
  • Represent the company in standards organizations and industry groups to influence security direction.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Proven experience implementing system software for confidential compute workloads.
  • Familiarity with confidential compute approaches on Intel, AMD, and ARM platforms.
  • Familiarity with peripheral security and integrity standards (examples listed: PCI IDE, TDISP, DMTF SPDM).
  • Experience with hypervisors, virtualization, and Linux integration.
  • Experience with trusted execution environments (TEEs).
  • Strong software engineering background; proficient in C.
  • Experience writing and reviewing hardware and software specifications.

Nice-to-have.

  • Familiarity with RISC-V architecture.
  • Experience with language-based or formal verification approaches to security (e.g., Rust, Ada SPARK, Frama-C).
  • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and public-key cryptography.
  • Familiarity with microarchitectural side-channel attacks and mitigations.
  • Experience working with CPU/RTL engineers and standards groups.
