Compiler Engineer
Role Summary
Port, maintain and optimize compiler toolchains (GCC, LLVM, Go) for a new processor architecture. Work with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to debug toolchain issues, run regressions, and improve functionality and performance for targeted applications.

Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Port and maintain compilers (GCC, LLVM, Go) to a new platform and computational model.
- Build, debug and resolve toolchain and integration issues.
- Run functionality and performance regression tests and interpret results.
- Profile and optimize application performance via compiler work (parallelization and vectorization).
- Identify system-level performance bottlenecks and develop mitigations.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define and validate compiler-driven optimizations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; plus notable additions listed as nice-to-have.
- Must-have: Proven C/C++ development and debugging experience related to compilers.
- Must-have: Deep understanding of compiler internals, architecture, and design.
- Must-have: Strong object-oriented design skills and standard software engineering practices.
- Must-have: Experience using open-source tools on Linux and integrating packages with the Linux kernel.
- Must-have: Ability to learn new technologies quickly and meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Nice-to-have: Direct GCC and/or LLVM toolchain experience.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with compilers for GPUs or other non-traditional processors.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
