Job Title

Coherent Fabric Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design RTL for Arm System IP coherent interconnects used in high-bandwidth mesh topologies for hyperscale, AI infrastructure, IoT, and automotive products. The role focuses on delivering scalable, configurable interconnect IP with optimized power, performance, and area (PPA).

The engineer will work within the System IP Coherent Interconnect design team and collaborate frequently with verification, implementation, performance, power, and project management teams to deliver high-quality hardware on schedule.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience but expects practical experience in fabric/interconnect design and RTL logic implementation.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include RTL design, coordination with cross-functional teams, and ensuring delivered IP meets PPA and quality targets.

  • Write and maintain SystemVerilog RTL for coherent fabric/interconnect blocks.
  • Plan, track, and coordinate individual tasks to meet milestones and quality goals.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, implementation, power, and project teams to integrate and deliver IP.
  • Debug functional and performance issues using simulation and debug tools.
  • Apply low-power design techniques and consider PPA trade-offs in design decisions.
  • Improve design methodology across the System IP group and wider design community.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints, followed by concise nice-to-have items.

  • Practical experience in fabric and interconnect design (coherent interconnects preferred).
  • Knowledge of high-speed on-chip interconnect protocols such as AMBA CHI and/or AXI.
  • Proficient with SystemVerilog RTL coding and common simulation/debug flows.
  • Familiarity with low-power design techniques and awareness of system-level performance impact.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and deliver designs to schedule and quality targets.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with PCIe, Ethernet, DDR.
  • Knowledge of transaction ordering, virtualization, MMUs, cache coherence, and host-bridge functions.
  • Experience with lint, synthesis, static timing analysis, DFT, and physical design considerations.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Ruby, or similar) and proficiency with Unix/Linux shells and Makefiles.

Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
