Coherent Fabric Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's System IP Coherent Interconnect design team in Austin to develop scalable, configurable mesh interconnect IP used in hyperscale, AI infrastructure, IoT, and automotive markets. The role focuses on RTL logic design with consideration for performance, power, and area (PPA) across the full design flow.

This is a hybrid role based in Austin, TX. Candidates must have the right to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality RTL for interconnect/fabric IP and collaborating across teams to meet milestones.

  • Design RTL logic using SystemVerilog.
  • Plan, track, and coordinate tasks to meet project milestones and quality goals.
  • Collaborate with verification, implementation, power, performance, and project management teams.
  • Debug functional and performance issues using simulation and debug tools.
  • Apply low-power design techniques and evaluate the system-level impact of design decisions.
  • Improve design methodology across the System IP group.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience.

  • Practical experience in fabric and interconnect design.
  • Proficiency with SystemVerilog RTL coding and delivering RTL logic to schedule.
  • Knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as AMBA CHI and/or AXI.
  • Ability to collaborate with verification, synthesis, timing, power, and physical-design teams to deliver production-quality IP.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with PCIe, Ethernet, DDR.
  • Understanding of transaction ordering, virtualization, MMUs, cache coherence, and host bridge functions.
  • Experience with lint, synthesis, static timing analysis, and DFT.
  • Awareness of physical design and verification methods.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Ruby, etc.) and competence with Unix/Linux shells and Makefiles.

Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
