Role Summary

Engineers in the CoDesign & NextGen team work at the intersection of hardware and software, focusing on high-performance kernel design, ASIC performance modeling and tuning, system bringup, and simulation-driven validation. As a new college graduate you will learn the Cerebras platform end-to-end and contribute to kernel development, performance modeling, and validation on both hardware and simulators.

Entry-level / New college graduate role (early career).

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Learn Cerebras products and the Wafer Scale Engine programming model end-to-end.
  • Design and optimize high-performance kernels for the platform.
  • Develop and tune performance models for software and ASIC behavior.
  • Validate designs and models using hardware and simulation environments.
  • Profile and debug system pipelines to improve performance and robustness.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and research teams on system bringup and tuning.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Strong background in computer architecture.
  • Analytical problem-solving mindset.
  • Exposure to CPU/GPU architecture and programming models.
  • Experience with CPU/GPU simulators.
  • Experience with performance profiling and debugging of system pipelines.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.

Nice-to-have:

  • Basic understanding or exposure to machine learning.
  • Experience with system bringup, kernel tuning, or ASIC performance modeling.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
