CMOS Memory Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and validate CMOS embedded memories (SRAM, ROM, CAM, register files) for Synopsys's embedded memory IP portfolio in Hyderabad. Work across layout, CAD, frontend engineering and verification to deliver memory compilers and production-ready IP.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and collaboration to deliver memory IP.

• Design and develop embedded memory circuits: single-port/dual-port SRAM, register files, ROM, and CAM.
• Perform SPICE-based circuit simulations to validate speed, power, and density trade-offs.
• Create and review schematics; plan and supervise layout execution and participate in layout verification.
• Develop and verify bit cells and coordinate with layout teams to ensure design intent is preserved in silicon.
• Use parasitic extraction and DRC/LVS/LVR tools to verify physical design.
• Interface with CAD and frontend teams to support memory compiler automation and EDA model generation.
• Write and maintain C-Shell and Perl scripts to automate verification and validation workflows.
• Document design decisions, simulation results, and verification reports for internal reviews and customer deliverables.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience or coursework in CMOS memory design, circuit simulation, and layout fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of memory layout design, parasitic extraction, and layout verification tools (DRC/LVS/LVR).

• Scripting experience in C-Shell and Perl for design automation tasks.
